Level of Diving

Diving will be in warm water, shore diving. Depths range from 30-100 feet making this a good trip for all levels of divers from beginner to advanced. Shore diving requires entering the water with a full set of gear (except fins) and walking on unstable ground. Dive boots are mandatory and physcial fitness to carry gear in/out of water is required. Boat diving is available but will not be coordinated as part of this trip.

Destination

Bonaire is part of the Dutch Caribbean making up the "B" of the "ABC" islands - Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao. Located just off the coast of Venezuela, the tiny island is renowned for its amazing shore diving and snorkeling. The reef is located right off shore and runs along the western side of the island. Bonaire is a leader in reef and marine conservation for the past 30-40 years. The reef is healthy, the marine life is plentiful, diving and snorkeling are amazing. Other things to do on the island include windsurfing, kiteboarding, paddleboarding, kayaking, birding, hiking, sightseeing. The island is small with no traffic lights and is easy to navigate. Lots of sightseeing by just driving around the island. Shopping is available downtown. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores.

Belair Resort

A small resort located on the south part of the island, close to many of the popular diving and snorkeling sites. Condos are 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom with full kitchen and livingroom as well as private patio. Located right on the ocean close to the Bachelor's Beach divesite, there is a ladder for easy entry/exit to the water for diving and snorkeling. A rinse shower is located at the top of the ladder for a quick, easy rinse off after the dive. A shared oceanfront patio includes loungers for relaxing. Each condo is similar in layout and includes a queen bed in the first bedroom and two single beds in the other bedroom. Private ensuite bathrooms in each bedroom.

The resort is located in the Belnam area, close to Bachelor's Beach dive site. A short drive south will take you to more popular site including Alice in Wonderland, Hilma Hooker, Salt Pier, Pink Beach, and many more. A short walk north will take you to Bachelor's Beach, Donkey Beach, and the airport. Five minute drive to downtown Kralendijk for restaurants, shopping, and grocery. The northern dive sites are a drive through downtown, about 20 minutes to get to popular site like Oil Slick Leap, Andrea, Witch's Hut, and more. Further north you will get to Ol' Blue and Karpata (about 25 minute drive).
