Thank you to all our fantastic customers who have helped us with so many different projects over the years. We could not have done it without you!
Edmonton Food BankWith the help of our fantastic customers, we have collected food and monetary donations during our monthly Video Nights. The response from our customers has been amazing! Even during tougher economic times, generous people always showed up at video night with bags of food and opened their wallets to help out a great cause. Since 2012, we have collected and donated over 600 kg of food and $5000 in cash donations, that were matched by The Dive Outfitters! |
Reef Renewal Foundation BonaireThe foundation's mission is to protect and restore coral reefs in Bonaire by developing new and innovative ways to restore reefs that are supported by research collaborations and shared worldwide. Through generous prize donations from Scubapro, Sealife, Fourth Element, Henderson, Problue, Innovative Scuba, Light & Motion, Akona, SeaShark, and Scuba Gear Canada, we raised funds during our annual Underwater Poker Dive. And with a matching donation by The Dive Outfitters, we were able to adopot a coral tree in Bonaire in 2017 (pictured left). Since then, we return with our dive groups every spring and fall to see the progress of our little coral tree. Hopefully in the future it will be transplanted on the many beautiful reefs of Bonaire. |

Veterans Association Food BankStarting 2020 we are collecting donations for the local Veterans Association who have opened a new location in west Edmonton. You can drop off non-perishable food items as well as essential personal and hygienic items. |
Bonaire Animal ShelterDuring the 2014-2015 winter video nights, we asked people to drop off any new or gently used toys and supplies for the Bonaire Animal Shelter. We had lots of donated items and cash from so many people, the response was overwhelming! We showed up in April 2015 with a huge suitcase full of toys, collars, and other supplies for all the animals at the shelter. |

Bonaire Wild Bird RehabIn the early spring of 2018, the call went out for assistance with distressed baby flamingos that were being found malnourished, dehydrated, and on the verge of death around Bonaire. For unknown reasons, the baby birds were not finding adequate food supply and were wandering the island in search of food, only to get lost or hit by vehicles. Dozens quickly turned into hundreds of flamingos in distress and needing help! Through the generous prize donations from Scubapro, Fourth Element, Henderson, Light & Motion, SDI/TDI, Sherwood, Akona, and Scuba Gear Canada, we once again raised funds during our annual Underwater Poker Dive. We were able to purchase the proper food from a veterinary clinic in Canada to take with us to Bonaire for the flamingos. It wasn't much, but hopefully it helped feed a few small mouths. |
KISS CoralsAt the end of 2017 during some routine shop cleaning and organizing, we realized we had accumulated a LOT of random fins that were in good condition, but they were missing a matching buddy. Thanks to social media, we were able to donate them to KISS Corals in the Philippines. This organization's goal is, "to regenerate fish and coral population in areas where corals are being damaged or destroyed by nature or human intervention". They didn't care that the fins didn't match and we were happy they didn't end up in the dumpster. |
