BCD's - Most of our rental fleet is wing and backplate style buoyancy compensators. This is a great opportunity to try out this system to see how you like it. We also have a small fleet of traditional jacket style BCD's available to rent as well.
Drysuits - These are DUI brand drysuits, with the patented zipseals on the wrist and neck for easy sizing and replacement. Proof of Dry Suit Diver certification or enrollment in a dry suit course is required to rent a dry suit.
Dive Computers - Try out the Shearwater Peregrine with bluetooth capability. Also available but with limited availability on rentals of Shearwater Perdix and Teric with air integration
Dive Lights - Try out the Sola light by Light & Motion, these are fantastic dive lights with external charging and super bright options.
Masks & Fins - Our rental fleet has a huge variety of masks and fins. If there's a particular style or model that you'd like to try out, let us know. Any mask or fins that we sell in the store is available in rentals.
Weights - Wearing a couple dozen pounds of weight on your waist can be a pain... literally. It can cause physical pain in your back or hips, and it doesn't do much for improving your trim and buoyancy. For local diving, we utilize the DUI weight harness system, which transfers a lot of the weight from your waist & hips to your shoulders. Our rental BCD's are also equipped with side and back trim pockets for integrated options. We also have traditional belts as well for those that prefer that option.
Tanks - We have tanks available in Aluminum 80cf, 63cf and 40cf. In steel we have 95cf, 85cf and 77cf. DIN and Yoke valves are available for most sizes as well.
AIR and NITROX FILLS
We provide quality breathing air for diving and it is tested on a regular basis. Nitrox is available, up to 40% and requires a nitrox c-card as proof of nitrox certification. We mix our Nitrox using the Continuous Blending Method. Decompression gases are also available up to 100%. Proof of Certification is required.
AIR FILLS for non-SCUBA Cylinders: We can fill most non-SCUBA tanks that require compressed air. Some avalanche packs, once deployed, may need a rebuild kit which we can install but do not sell. This kit will need to be provided by the customer. We cannot fill CO2 cylinders.
EQUIPMENT REPAIR & SERVICING
You spent a lot of money when you purchased your scuba diving gear. So keeping it in good working condition is not only important for your safety, but also to maintain the investment that you've already made for the gear.
Tip: Upon returning from your vacation, bring your regulators & BCD in for it's regular servicing. Then when you put it into storage until your next holiday, you don't have to worry about the salt and sand causing damage to the delicate parts! This is a better scenario than leaving it to the last minute, rushing to the dive shop days before your departure, and finding out the service parts are on backorder, and your gear is not serviced before your vacation!
Visual Inspection: A visual inspection is required on cylinders on a yearly basis. An inspection by one of our qualified inspectors involves removing the valve and checking the inside and outside of the tank for damage, corrosion or flaws. The valve is also inspected at this time. If you are unsure when you tank was last visually inspected, bring it in and one of our staff will assist you. Tank visual inspections can generally be done within 1-2 days.
Hydrostatic Testing: Tank hydro tests are required by law every five years. If your tank is due, bring it in and we'll test it for you. A hydrostatic test will generally take 1-2 weeks.
Valve Cleaning & Rebuilding: Should be done when your tank is due for a hydro inspection or if it becomes contaminated.
Tank Cleaning & Tumbling: Only required if your tank requires it or if you request it.
It is important that your BCD not only hold air properly, but that other mechanisms, such as over-pressure valves and the power inflator, are functioning properly as well. A sticky power inflator could have dire consequences in the open water! Your BCD should be serviced on a regular basis. This should be done if you notice any issues or damage or every 2 years or every 100 dives whichever comes first.
BCD servicing Includes:
- Overhaul of low pressure inflator (cleaning of mechanisms and replacement of o-rings)
- Leak test on air bladder
- Cleaning & testing over pressure valves.
Your regulators should be inspected and serviced on a regular basis, annually is recommended. Dirt, sand, and salt can impede a regulator's performance. A free-flowing regulator at depth is the last thing you want to worry about while diving. Some manufacturer's will provide parts warranty for regulators that are serviced on an annual basis, check in-store for details. This should be done if you notice any issues or damage or every 2 years or every 100 dives whichever comes first.
Regulator servicing includes:
- Cleaning all parts in an ultra sonic cleaner
- Replacement of the filter, all o-rings, high and low pressure seats
- Inspection of hoses.
Brands that we service:
- OTS FFM
- Ocean Reef FFM
