Rescue Diver - Online

NOTE: Online training for any SDI specialty courses are intended to replace the equivalent SDI paper manual. You are still required to satisfactorily complete all requirements for the course including any classroom, pool, and/or open water training required for certification in that course.

By signing up for this course, the perspective student will be able to gain the ability and confidence in aiding another person in the diving environment. There are an almost infinite number of scenarios that can require a practiced response to help another diver in trouble. This manual provides the information to help a student learn and master independent diver skills for self-help as well as being able to assess and respond to others. A variety of subject areas are included, with in-depth information regarding dive planning, equipment preparation, emergency skills and rescue techniques, causes of diving accidents, search and recovery, first aid, and finally recompression chambers and diver therapy.

You will work through the various chapters online, and each chapter will end with a short knowledge quiz. There will be a final exam at the end of the course.
