Level of Diving

Diving will be in warm water off of a liveaboard dive boat. Water temperatures range from 76F-85. Minimum 3mm wetsuit is recommended as you will be doing 3-5 dives per day. Diving level should be Advanced Open Water with at least 50 recent dives including Deep Diver certification. Single tank and twin tank setups available onboard.

Destination

Chuuk state consists of seven major island groups lying within the Eastern Caroline Islands, about 1028km southeast of Guam and 5,436km southwest of Hawaii. The total land mass of Chuuk state, including the outer islands, is approximately 128 km.

The attraction of Chuuk for divers is to see the ghost fleet of Truk Lagoon, the world’s best shipwreck destination. Diving in Truk Lagoon is an adventure you will never forget. WWII wrecks are scattered across 77 square miles. The wrecks are covered with life. There are over 300 varieties of hard and soft corals. Here it is not unusual to see pelagic sharks. Truk is without parallel, having its ghostly remains and ensuing aquatic life forming the world’s greatest wreck diving in a wonderfully comfortable location.

That’s only the beginning of your adventure. You’ll see an abundance of incredible tropical fish, anemones, gorgonians, and eagle rays. This will be our third trip to Truk Lagoon and the fascination of the wrecks are as high as ever. Truly the trip of a lifetime, you’ll experience history first-hand. It is truly a humbling experience to dive on these wrecks.

Odyssey Liveaboard

The Odyssey, a 132’ air-conditioned live-aboard vessel has spacious rooms, private ensuite facilities, and a large entertainment lounge. All meals and beverages are included and so is the nitrox. With small groups of only 16 guests, you’ll make friends quickly and forever. Diving for all levels of divers including advanced single tank diving and technical diving (double setups and DIN and YOKE systems available).

The Odyssey boasts nine large, luxurious staterooms all fully carpeted with private air conditioning controls, windows or large portholes, and private toilet, shower and sink all in every stateroom. Seven of the staterooms are equipped to easily accommodate two single travelers in twin beds or a couple in a spacious king size bed. Also available are two staterooms for single travelers only – they have all the features of the double staterooms and easily accommodate the single traveler in a twin bed. All staterooms have a 32" monitor with access to onboard entertainment system. Staterooms are cleaned daily.
